Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

Join the core engineering team at SARAL, a company dedicated to building the world's best influencer operating system to facilitate partnerships between e-commerce brands and creators. This is a completely remote role within a lean team of 15, including 4 engineers.

Compensation

• Salary: Rs. 45 LPA to Rs. 50 LPA (flexible for the right candidate)

Responsibilities

• Engineering Excellence: Hold yourself to a high standard, treating engineering as a craft and taking pride in your work.
• Code Reviews: Perform PR reviews for other developers and guide junior engineers.
• API Development: Write robust APIs and design scalable, maintainable backend services.
• Code Maintenance: Ensure modular, maintainable code to accommodate rapid feature iterations and optimize backend performance.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with engineers, product managers, designers, and leadership to clarify requirements and maintain project visibility.
• Customer Focus: Prioritize customer needs and ensure their success with the product.

Requirements

• Experience: 4+ years as a Backend Engineer or Lead Backend Engineer.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Express.js (non-negotiable).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, SQS) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of caching strategies (Redis, Memcached).
  • Command of SQL and database performance optimization.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
