Founding AI Product Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Founding AI Engineer who will take on the responsibility of developing and shipping products from end to end. This role requires a dynamic individual who can navigate the challenges of a startup environment while utilizing cutting-edge AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the product development process from ideation to deployment.
• Engage with customers to gather feedback and insights to inform product development.
• Synthesize user feedback to determine what to build and prioritize features.
• Utilize AI tools effectively, including but not limited to cursor, Claude, and Copilot, to enhance coding efficiency.
• Write production-grade code when AI-generated output is insufficient.
• Develop and implement AI systems, specifically with a focus on the latest foundation LLMs, agents, orchestration, and tool use.
• Work with image and video generation models, addressing challenges related to non-verifiable outputs.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 6+ years of experience, particularly in startup environments.
• AI Proficiency: Strong understanding and hands-on experience with AI technologies and tools.

• Coding Skills:

  • Proficient in Python, Node.js, and Next.js.
  • Ability to write high-quality, maintainable code independently.

• Background:

  • Experience building AI systems rather than just wrappers over existing models.
  • Familiarity with challenges in AI output verification.

• Education:

  • A degree in Computer Science is preferred but not mandatory; what you have built and delivered matters more.
