Role Overview

We're hiring a Senior Founding Mobile Engineer (Flutter) to work directly with our CTO and lead mobile development for our app. This is a high-ownership role: you'll drive architecture, performance, reliability, and developer velocity, while taking on technically hard problems in real-time voice/AI experiences on mobile.

Prior Flutter experience is a plus. If you're an exceptional mobile engineer (Android/iOS/React Native) who can pick up Flutter quickly, we would love to talk.

What You'll Do

• Own the mobile app end-to-end: architecture, core implementation, release management, and long-term scalability
• Lead Flutter development: establish patterns, reusable components, code quality standards, and technical roadmap
• Build and ship voice/AI-first mobile experiences (low latency, streaming, real-time UX constraints)
• Drive performance optimization: app startup time, memory usage, jank reduction, audio pipeline efficiency, battery/network usage
• Ensure production-grade reliability: crash monitoring, analytics instrumentation, observability, debugging workflows, incident response
• Collaborate closely with the CTO and product/design to translate product goals into robust engineering outcomes

What We're Looking For

Must-have

• 5+ years building and shipping production mobile apps at scale (consumer apps preferred)
• Strong fundamentals: data structures, concurrency, networking, performance profiling, debugging
• Experience working with large-scale apps: modularization, CI/CD, release discipline, monitoring
• High ownership mindset: you ship, you measure, you improve

Strong plus

• Strong Flutter + Dart experience (or deep expertise in Android/Kotlin or iOS/Swift with demonstrated ability to ramp fast)
• Experience with real-time audio/voice, streaming, WebRTC, low-latency systems, or similar
• Experience integrating AI/ML features into mobile products (inference, streaming APIs, on-device constraints)
• Experience with growth/product engineering: experimentation frameworks, feature flags, analytics, onboarding funnels
