ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll be the Senior Engineer leading Zime’s core application: managing a small team (around 5 engineers), owning product stability and performance, and staying close to customers via sales and feedback calls. If you’re tired of just “doing tickets” and want real ownership, this is for you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Lead design, development, and release of core product features end‑to‑end.
• Manage and mentor a team of ~5 engineers while staying hands‑on.
• Join customer and sales calls to deeply understand real‑world usage and pain points.
• Drive sprint delivery, code quality, observability, and production stability.
• Own incident response, postmortems, and continuous reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with founders, product, and GTM to turn user insight into shipped product.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2–3+ years as a senior / tech lead with real ownership.
• Strong in at least one backend stack (e.g., Python, Node.js, Go, Java) and comfortable with modern frontends (e.g., React).
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, databases, and system design.
• Hands‑on experience building resilient, observable, highly available systems in production.
• Strong communication skills; comfortable talking to customers and non‑technical teams.
• Enjoy mentoring engineers and raising the bar on engineering practices.
• Thrive in fast‑moving, ambiguous startup environments.
NICE TO HAVE
• Early‑stage startup experience.
• Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker/Kubernetes, and observability stacks.
• Interest in AI/ML and building AI‑powered products.
